Chronic Cancer Crown

During the Rhizome Show & Tell Exhibit at the Arts Factory in 2023, I wore this crown atop my head for the night. My art in this exhibit accompanied with a playlist of poetry called "In the Myst" in which I discuss having a chronic cancer diagnosis and my battle to heal and live.

The wreath, salvaged from the church which is now Arts+, is wrapped in different color yarn, a chain of mala beads, with an anchor brooch and quartz crystal central and surrounded by gold feathers, a hospital tag from an oncological visit and crowned with a bouquet of babies breath and eucalyptus.
